How to Develop An Effective GMP Audit Schedule?
If we view one reason for Internal GMP Audits as a means of determining the effectiveness of our Quality & GMP system, then it follows that scheduling our Internal GMP Audits should reflect, and support our Auditing goals.
Our schedule should be accurate, flexible, and of course, realistic.
The GMP Audit schedule is created and updated as Audits are performed. There are typically three types of GMP Audits that are scheduled. The most common is the planned GMP Audit. Follow-up GMP Audits are the next most common and supplemental GMP Audits are the least common. All three types of GMP Audits are used throughout the Audit process and the year, but only the planned is located on the schedule. Follow-up and supplemental GMP Audits can be added to the schedule, as they are performed.
